Can you remember the first time you were introduced to Crouch No Run style of playing??  Many people cannot, but a number of {GITS} Admins can remember.  Only back then it wasn’t called that then, it was Stealth Hunt No Running.  The place, {LFNY} – Live From New York Servers.  The person…{LFNY} The Don – Pete, AKA SniperHunter, AKA OldSlow&Blind.

This is our way of thanking Pete for introducing us to the style of playing we play now.  Not only that, the way Pete ran the group, ran the servers, down to the simple every day happenings of the group, all this stuck with us..to the point we have tried to copy his style into {GITS}.

Pete first started {LFNY} back in 2002 in the days of Medal of Honour Allied Assault.  Back then he ran a MOHAA Stealth Hunt Server on an old laptop.

After MOHAA came the Call of Duty Series.  Pete found himself in his element.  He soon became very competent with modding and soon began modding the {LFNY} Servers much to the delight of those playing on them.  Some his work is still around today and can be found in {GITS}NewfieCrash’s 2 mods.  He also taught himself web design and proved to be quite good at it..desiging the {LFNY} Website.

When the September 11 Attacks on New York happened, Pete, a Law Enforcement Officer with the New York State, had, like many many others, a close personal connection to the events.  He wanted to give something back, but with so much on the go, how could he give something that would heard and seen by large numbers of people.  He came up with a Tribute to the Fallen and to his city, New York.  Pete worked with a well known COD Map Makers Baldy(later {LFNY}Baldy), the late {LFNY}BigUglyMaco(Will)and an {LFNY} Admin who was a musician from Canada…{LFNY}Fozz(you guys know him as FogDevil).

Together they made a HUGE Call of Duty map, still downloadable, based on the Twin Towers in New York City.  There was one floor on each building which hosted a dedication room to those events.  There were pictures, music, narratives, names, etc honouring those who had fallen.  But since the game was based on war and killing, Pete wanted these dedication rooms to be peaceful, so anyone entering these rooms automatically lost the use of their weapons until they left the rooms.  The following are some screen shots of this map!

Pete had a very straight forward approach to running things.  Here are a few excerpts of a document from him:

The Members And Players Of {LFNY} Feel Strongly About Keeping Our Server Peaceful , And A Place Where Players Of This Great Game Can Find A Little Relief From The Real World And Of Course Interact With Other Good People .

We Pride Ourselves On Respect , You See We're All Adults In {LFNY} , Most Over 30 , Some 40 and Even 50 . We Treat Everyone With Respect And We're Firm Concerning The Operation Of Our Server , But Fair to All . EVERYONE Is Equal . People Play in our Server To Chat a Bit And Make Some Friends But PRIORITY ONE Is We're There Ultimately To Play And Have Fun .

I Hand Pick My Team Members Very Carefully , Every One Of My People Approaches Every Player With Respect , Discresion In Decision And Carry's Themselves As The Adults That They Are . We Are Never Quick to Kick Or Ban , We'll Approach An Offender With Reason And Take The Time to Explain In Hopes That The Offender Is Able to Reason Just The Same And see That Our Interest Is Just To Promote The Rules Above So All Who Come To {LFNY} Can Continue to Have Fun With Every Change Of The Map . Show Your Admins , Designated By The {LFNY } Tag , Respect And You Will Receive Twice That Respect In Return I Assure You .

We Are A Stealth Hunt Tactical Team , Meaning We Hunt Our Subjects With Stealth , Quiet Engagement , To Keep The Game Flowing .You Also Won't Find Only Large Open Maps Made For The Camp Type Player , Stealth Hunt Can Be Applied In Any Map Of Any Size . Picking Spots To Stop And Scan Is A Natural Part Of The Game And We Don't Have A Problem With That Type Of Tactic , But We Do Encourage The Stealth Hunt , Meaning Keeping The Players And The Game Moving . Hunt Your Target Rather Than Sitting And Waiting For It Is What We Promote .

We are proud to say that {GITS} whole being was based on Pete’s beliefs.  Beliefs he shared with a number of us!  Beliefs that have stuck to this day!

We hope that some day, some of our new friends get a chance to meet Pete!  It was always a blast when he played!  We close this section off with Pete’s favourite saying…. Fuggeddaboutit !!!

Thank You Pete!!
